Excursions on the lakes: Santo Lake

Near Pievepelago, inside the Parco del Fringnano and at 1500 m.s.l.m near the eastern wall of Monte Giovo we find the Santo Lake.  A lake of mixed origin: glacial and landslide, in the part where the mountain and the lake meet is, in fact, a hanging terrace crossed by a small stream that falls into the lake.

The lake can be reached directly by car or through easy paths that leave from the nearby shelter and allow you to enjoy a day immersed in nature. Fishing is permitted on a river bank. It is easy to reach even in winter, when the landscape is immersed in snow and the lake is frozen; an enchanted place!
